Locking unique gameplay behind a paywall and forcing you to buy just that one item individually was and still is super nasty to me. Honestly that’s the part I hated most about it. There’s still sooo much content we’re lacking that could easily be added via kits, but here we are 957382938 kits later, and all we got in the way of new gameplay is some broken vacuums. Now as for kits, I wouldn’t mind them so much if every other one had gameplay items of some kind. Though I will admit compared to expansions for The Sims 4, expansions for The Sims 3 certainly felt much more complete content wise. My sims never get bored, bc they’ve always got something to do, and some sets complimented other sets and even packs, which is great from a completionist mindset, but is also why even despite how much I enjoyed the sets themselves, I still felt like a lot of these items should’ve just been added to the expansions. That aside, I didn’t love the idea of the store, no, but I did like the content, and how it added a lotta gameplay. Idk… I liked the store for the fact that it was easier to 🏴☠️, and tbh so much of it was so buggy and broken you were better off finding it by other means, and downloading the fixes for it anyway.
